A man wanted in connection with a shooting last year near a Railroad Square restaurant in Santa Rosa has been arrested in Berkeley.
Samuel Fessemaye Tewolde, 30, of Santa Rosa, was the lone outstanding suspect among eight men named in a federal grand jury criminal indictment announced in December.
The men are alleged to be members and associates of a Santa Rosa gang and were charged with a variety of crimes including racketeering, attempted murder, robbery and drug trafficking.
Tewolde was wanted in connection with what Santa Rosa police said was a gang-related shooting in Railroad Square on Sept. 5.
He was taken into custody Sunday by the FBI and Berkeley police, the FBI announced Wednesday. He appeared in U.S. District Court in San Francisco Tuesday.
According to the federal indictment, Tewolde was charged with attempted murder and various federal racketeering conspiracy charges.
The attempted murder charge against Tewolde arises from an incident in the parking lot of Chevys restaurant, where he is suspected of firing shots at someone he believed "snitched" on other gang members.
No one was injured by the gunfire, though one vehicle was struck, according to police.
