NORTH BAY: Restaurants win wine honors

Six North Bay restaurants were recently recognized by Wine Enthusiast magazine in its compilation of the 100 Best Wine Restaurants 2014.

In Sonoma County, the Spinster Sisters of Santa Rosa and Spoonbar of Healdsburg were both singled out for their wine programs.

Napa Valley restaurants that made the cut include Solbar of Calistoga, the Restaurant at Meadowood of St. Helena, the French Laundry of Yountville and the Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil of Rutherford.

FORESTVILLE: Twist celebrates anniversary

Twist Eatery in Forestville, owned by Jeff Young and his wife, Toni Echols, will celebrate its second anniversary on Tuesday — and Young’s birthday — by giving away miniatures of Echols’ famous chocolate chip cookies.

The restaurant serves “world cuisine, locally sourced” on its menu, which includes pasta specials and potato gnocchi, healthy salads and hearty sandwiches. With the launch of the tomato season, the OMG BLT is back.

Twist Eatery is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. 6536 Front St. 820-8443. twisteatery.com.
