HEALDSBURG: Screening of “Seeds of Time”

The SHED in Healdsburg is hosting a special screening of the “Seeds of Time” May 6. The film follows the agriculture pioneer Cary Fowler as he races against time to protect the future of our food as climate change affects farmers globally. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the film begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. The SHED is at 25 North St.

NAPA VALLEY: The magic of “Rutherford Dust”

The Rutherford Dust Society is launching “The Rutherford Experience” May 1, 2 and 3 and tickets are now on sale. This weekend of seminars and tastings, hosted by Rutherford wineries, will replace the former December Passport. Guests can purchase a la carte tickets to the Friday Welcome Reception ($60), the Saturday tastings/seminars and Women Winemaker luncheons ($150), and the Sunday morning Winery Brunches ($80). They can also purchase the all-inclusive Rutherford Enthusiast Pass for access to all events at $265. Ticket are available rutherford-appellation-wineries.com. Seminars and events will be hosted by Alpha Omega, Conn Creek Winery, Elizabeth Spencer Wines, Foley Johnson Winery, winegrowers Davie Piña & Frank Leeds, Honig Vineyard & Winery, Inglenook, Mumm Napa, Peju Winery, Provenance Vineyards, Raymond Vineyards, Rutherford Hill Winery, Sullivan Vineyards and Tres Sabores Winery. Proceeds from the association’s events benefit local charities like the Rutherford Volunteer Fire Department, Rutherford 4-H, the restoration of the historic Rutherford Grange and others. The Rutherford Appellation is located in the heart of the Napa Valley. It is known for its signature “Rutherford dust”, a term used to describe its terroir.
