Charlie Palmer opens Harvest Table in St. Helena

Chef Charlie Palmer of Healdsburg’s Dry Creek Kitchen has opened his latest Wine Country restaurant, Harvest Table, on the south side of St. Helena in Napa Valley.

The 110-seat restaurant, located at the 78-room Harvest Inn by Charlie Palmer, serves lunch Wednesday through Friday, brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.

Executive Chef Levi Mezick, who won a James Beard nomination at Restaurant 1833 in Monterey, is overseeing the newly built kitchen and seasonal menu, inspired by the resort’s five culinary gardens and local, artisanal producers.

“The menus we’ve created are approachable, ever-changing and truly home grown,” Palmer said. “Levi brings a very honest and current style of cooking with very little gimmickry. His dishes are well composed and complete, interesting and textural, but at the same time they’re very natural and not overly fussy.”

The menu is divided into three sections: snacks, starters and plates. Notable dishes include Roasted Carrots with Buttermilk Vadouvan; Potato Gnocchi with Ramp Butter, Croutons and Charred Favas; and the Harvest Table Burger with Fontina Cheese, Housemade Bun, French Fries and Bread & Butter Pickles.

Mezick will feature a daily, changing, family-style dish meant for sharing, such as a Whole Roasted Truffle Chicken with Parmesan Polenta, Morel Mushrooms and English Peas.

Executive Pastry Chef Andrew DiClementi, most recently of the Dry Creek Kitchen, is showcasing his talents with an array of desserts, including the signature Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar.

The dining room at Harvest Table is flanked by al fresco, heated dining terraces that overlook the property’s eight acres of landscaping. Inside, high-beamed ceilings and oversized, classic brick fireplaces are offset by modern wood finishes and a blown glass teardrop chandelier in the U-shaped bar.
