There are lots of ways to celebrate Bastille Day in Wine Country, with local wineries and bakeries providing lots of savoir-faire on the holiday that commemorates the Storming of the Bastille and the launch of the French Revolution on July 14, 1789.

You don't have to lose your head, but here are some of the bigger events you might want to check out:

- Costeaux French Bakery in Healdsburg will presents the eighth annual Bastille Day in Wine Country on July 14 with the usual hijinks, ranging from the Oooh La La Can-can Dancers and music by Due Zighi Bachi to Kids' Eiffel Tower cookie decorating and the poor man's petanque, a form of street bowling with bread boules. - West Wines in Healdsburg will celebrate the French national holiday by serving Bordeaux-style wines with tasty bites from July 11 to 14. Cost is $15. 1000 Dry Creek Road. 433-2066. westwines.com.

- Fog Crest Vineyard in Sebastopol will hold a Winemaker Dinner with their winemaker, France native Jerome Chery, at 6:30 p.m. July 18 at the tasting room, 7606 Occidental Road. Chief Heidi West will prepare the four-course French feast. $110. fogcrestvineyard.com.
