Hamel Family Wines, a family-owned Sonoma Valley producer of wines from estate-grown vineyards, has named Clinton Huntsman as its executive chef.

Huntsman, who has worked with Wine Country chefs such as Thomas Keller and Cindy Pawlcyn, will develop the winery’s culinary program, including food and wine experiences for visitors and menus for private events. Prior to joining Hamel Family Wines, Huntsman served as sous chef at Calistoga Ranch, where he launched an in-house charcuterie program.

Huntsman has developed a series of epicurean experiences that showcase the winery’s varietals. The Linen Bag Breakfast Tasting includes poached eggs, braised greens and bacon rillettes with fresh biscuits topped by housemade jam, served with Champagne from owner George Hamel Jr.’s private cellar ($35 per person)

The Linen Bag Lunch Tasting includes a gourmet picnic lunch, with salad, entree, side dish and dessert for $50. The Reserve Tasting Experience includes a tour of the winery and caves and a private tasting of wines paired with local cheeses, charcuterie and a house-made bite, for $100.

Hamel Family Winery opened in 2014 at the Hamel Family Ranch at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. The 124-acre property includes an Estate House, a winery and caves for private dining and events. 15401 Sonoma Highway.
