This 3,500 square foot lounge in Napa’s Stags Leap District is one of the newest additions to Wine Country’s tasting scene.

The lounge, designed by Napa-based Shopworks, features a walnut wood tasting bar, black velvet sofas, and a patio replete with a fire pit. Open by appointment, here you can taste through the bottlings produced by winemaker Jeff Owens.

The upscale lounge completes the construction of the Lieutenant Governor’s newest winery, the one that reveals his sense of humor.

The winery is named in part after Odette Kahn, a woman sure to make Californians smile, if not sneer. Kahn was the judge at the1976 Judgment of Paris who demanded her ballot back after she voted for Chateau Montelena in the infamous blind tasting.

Among Newsom’s partners behind Odette Estate, the most notable is Gordon Getty, the well-known American businessman, investor and philanthropist.

Odette Estate is located at 5998 Silverado Trail in Napa, open by appointment (707-224-7533) seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
