A historic private property above the Valley of the Moon is the setting for a summer “Garden Party” Aug. 2 that will raise money for homeless women and children.

Sparkling and still wine from Ancient Oak Cellars, Korbel and Kendall-Jackson among other local wineries, will be served along with hors d’oeuvres by Park Avenue Catering and cupcake favors from Sift. Stephanie Ozer will entertain with live music.

The party will take place in the storybook setting of Pythian House, a private home in Kenwood built in the late 19th century that is surrounded by beautiful grounds and big trees.

A drawing for diamonds is one of the highlights of the afternoon party taking place from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased online at thelivingroomsc.org or by calling 579-0138. Directions to the house will be given with your ticket purchase.

Proceeds benefit The Living Room, a daytime drop-in center for mothers and their children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The 21-year-old non-profit support organization is moving to a new location after outgrowing its longtime home in downtown Santa Rosa.

In addition to more room, the new location will offer shower and laundry facilities for women and children served by The Living Room.
