SANTA ROSA: Nick Goldschmidt to speak
Flying winemaker Nick Goldschmidt of Goldschmidt Vineyards in Healdsburg makes wine in six countries, is giving a wine seminar and tasting Saturday. The event is at 4:30 p.m. at the Oakmont Tennis and Rec Center. During the seminar, Goldschmidt will share four of his wines from Sonoma County: Chelsea Merlot from Dry Creek Valley and three estate-grown cabernet sauvignons from the Alexander Valley.
Heidi West Catering will provide appetizers to pair with the wines: Niman Ranch Steak Sliders, Arugula & Fava Bean Pate with Pecorino Cheese on Crostini and Wild Mushroom Arancini. Tickets: $25. SEBASTOPOL: Marimar Estate’s Block Party
Marimar Estate is holding its version of a block party Aug. 29 at its Sebastopol winery. Guests will be offered a guided walking tour of vineyard blocks, where they will be offered a taste of wines produced from them.
