Guests are encouraged to dress like it’s 1895 or 1925 or 1955 at the The Laguna Garden Gala Sept. 13.

The afternoon and early evening party toasts the 15th anniversary of the Laguna Foundation with local wines and craft beers for those who prefer fine hops. Food pairings, lively music, local art and a wine auction will be part of the festivities.

The party will be held in the gardens of Vine Hill House, a private event site and guest house at O’Connell Vineyards and Apple Orchard Estate in the Russian River Valley near Sebastopol, overlooking the Santa Rosa plain.

The Gala is a prime fundraiser for the Foundation, which supports restoration and conservation of the Laguna de Santa Rosa.

Vintage garden party attire is encouraged, which could mean chapeaus, pretty dresses, linen, crisp cotton shirts and maybe a straw boater hat. You pick the era.

Artisan cheeses, olives, tomatoes, hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be served with fine local wine and good brew from the likes of Moonlight Brewing and Shady Oak Barrel House.

A silent auction will feature a number of wine lots including private tastings and tours.

Tickets for the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. party are $85. For information or tickets visit http://lagunagardengala.org.
