B.R. Cohn Winery Founder Bruce Cohn and Winemaker Tom Montgomery will share the first vintage of their “Select Block” Cabernet Sauvignon series during a Sunset Dinner at 5 p.m. Oct. 16 at the winery in Glen Ellen.

The evening begins with hors d’oeuvres paired with wine in the olive grove, followed by a farm-to-table dinner in the amphitheater paired with the “Select Block” cabs.

SONOMA: Harvest lunch at Meadowcroft Wines

Enjoy the bounty of the season with a farm-to-table autumnal lunch and pinot noir vineyard tour from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Meadowcroft Wines in Sonoma.

The event kicks off with the vineyard tour from winegrower Tom Meadowcroft. The lunch will be held in a new event space at Cornerstone Sonoma, with a menu prepared by Meadowcroft Resident Chef Darby Tarantino.

The lunch paired with Meadowcroft wines includes a Salad of Little Gem Lettuces, an Herb Crusted Loin of Pork with a Quince and Stone Fruit Reduction, and a rustic Santa Rosa Plum Tart.

WINDSOR: Harvest Lunch at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards

Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards will hold an al fresco, family-style Harvest Lunch at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the 400-acre estate in Windsor.

The lunch will be paired with Sonoma-Cutrer chardonnay and pinot noir wines and with a view of the Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyard and croquet courts.

The winery has remodeled its hospitality center, adding more space, contemporary designs and a custom island tasting bar near an oversized fireplace in the main tasting room. There are three private tasting rooms as well.

With the remodel, guests can enjoy a more casual, walk-in wine tasting as well as privately hosted wine experiences and wine and food pairings.

GUERNEVILLE: Enchanted wine evening

River to Coast Children’s Services, which offers resources and support to child-care providers and families in west Sonoma County, will host the 10th annual Enchanted Wine Country Evening at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at Dawn Ranch’s Agricultural Public House.

The event, which launches the 40th anniversary celebration for the agency, includes a champagne reception, gourmet winemaker dinner, silent and live auctions.

SANTA ROSA: Be a Viking for a day

Vikingfest, Freya Lodge’s annual celebration of Norwegian heritage, will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Norway Hall in Santa Rosa.

There will be a Viking Photo Booth, Nordic arts and crafts, a Viking-era reenactment and traditional foods, including a Taste of Norway Lunch, Scandinavian baked goods, fresh waffles and coffee.

GLEN ELLEN: New fall menu at Aventine

Aventine Glen Ellen has added items to its fall menu and changed its hours for the season.

Aventine is now open for dinner from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday). The brunch on weekends will close for the winter after Sunday, Oct. 11, and reopen on June 25, 2016.

The fall dinner menu, which begins the second week in October, will include salads such as Grilled Eggplant Parmesan Caprese ($15), pastas such as Ravioli Rosso ($17) and entrees such as Smoked Duck Breast with Butternut Squash Gnocchi and Porcini Mushroom Sauce ($29).

Aventine Glen Ellen features happy hour pricing at the bar all night on Tuesdays and half-price wines from the wine list on Wednesdays.
