HEALDSBURG: Explore the garden with Shed chef

Perry Hoffman, culinary director of the Healdsburg Shed, will lead a Summer Culinary Adventure at 10 a.m. June 18 with a foraging expedition for fresh herbs and edible flowers in the culinary gardens of the HomeFarm in Healdsburg.

SANTA ROSA: Annual picnic at the BV Grange

If you've never made it to the annual Grange Picnic in Bennett Valley, held continuously since 1873, then perhaps this is your year.

The 144th annual picnic will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 5, with the down home theme, “Meet your Neighbor!”

The menu ranges from barbecue chicken and beans to watermelon and homemade desserts, with beer and wine for purchase from Ricardo's Bar & Grill.

Don't miss the 6th annual Cherry Pit Spitting Contest at 12:30 p.m., plus the live music by Jami Jamison Band, kids' activities and a silent auction.

SONOMA: Wake up at Girl & the Fig

The Girl & the Fig restaurant has launched a breakfast menu, featuring indulgent classics and lighter fare served from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

HEALDSBURG: Taste Brooklyn at Oakville Grocery

The Oakville Grocery in Healdsburg has stocked its shelves with an array of 75 products made in Brooklyn, New York's hippest borough.

NOVATO: Jones cooks for Fresh Starts

Chef Bryan Jones of St. Francis Winery will cook a three-course dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, as a benefit for Homeward Bound of Marin.

ST. HELENA: Pizza & Vino at V. Sattui Winery

V. Sattui Winery will kick off its monthly Chic Pizza & Vino dinners at 6 p.m. June 9 at the St. Helena winery.

Michelin-starred Chef Stefano Masanti from Italy will create a variety of lavish pizzas in the winery's outdoor pizza oven on the winery picnic grounds. Each pizza will be paired with a wine.
