Healdsburg: Bring a smart phone with the iNaturalist app or a digital camera and your curiosity to document the biodiversity of Riverfront Regional Park, 7821 Eastside Road, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. RIVER RACE, JUNE 4

Guerneville: The rescheduled Great Russian River Race and party begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson's Beach, 16215 First St. The 4- and 8-mile races for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards and surf skis start at 11 a.m. Register by noon Friday. No walk-ins on race day. From noon-4 p.m., the party includes live music, costume contest, beer, food and fun. Proceeds go to Russian Riverkeepers education programs. Santa Rosa: Learn about the plant species in the Laguna de Santa Rosa's Environmental Center during a guided leisurely 2- to 3- mile hike 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday with biologist Peter Warner in the Laguna de Santa Rosa and surrounding grasslands, 900 Sanford Road. $60, pre-registration required. UNDEAD ULTRA, JUNE 11-12

Geyserville: Register soon for the Undead Ultra 200-mile relay run between Geyserville and Arcata on June 11-12. The route follows abandoned railroad tracks and a scenic two-lane highway and is suitable for all runners and distances. Register at healdsburgrunningcompany.com.
