SEBASTOPOL: Muir's celebrates spring

Now that St. Patrick's Day is behind us, there's no stopping spring and all its green glory.

Muir's Tea Room will welcome spring on Saturday and Sunday with a Secret Garden Tea Service that will offer special Yorkshire fare from the magical book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, “The Secret Garden.”

On April 8, there will be a “Tea for Tweets” special fundraising tea for the Native Song Bird Care, which aids all kinds of songbirds each year. Reservations are required.

On Easter Sunday, the tea room will offer a special menu, extended hours and Easter photos in the garden. Reservations are suggested.

A grand birthday celebration for its namesake, Scottish outdoorsman John Muir, will be held on April 22 and 23. Everyone who dines at Muir's over the weekend will receive a free petit Forest Cupcake.

HEALDSBURG: First of four cheese workshops

Janet Fletcher, the cheese guru behind Planet Cheese, will give a workshop on making your own ricotta at 1 p.m. April 2 at Healdsburg Shed.

The class is the first of four seasonal cheese workshops that Fletcher will give throughout the year at Shed. Tickets are $65 each, or $220 for the four workshops, which continue July 8, Oct. 15 and Dec. 2.

SONOMA: Dinner at the farm

A Saturday Supper celebrating Wine Country food and wine will be held at 5 p.m. April 8 at the 5th Street Farm.

The evening includes appetizers and a four-course menu featuring Tyge William Cellars wine pairings with winemaker Don Van Staaveren.

HEALDSBURG: Spring in Italy

Chef and cookbook author Linda Carucci will give a class on Primavera: Spring in Italy at 6 p.m. April 7 at Relish Culinary.

The recipes represent regions throughout Italy, from Bologna to Sicily, with a special focus on authentic Italian techniques like making bechamel, mousse and tart dough.
