CELEBRATE PARKS, JULY 28

Santa Rosa: Celebrate parks and open spaces in Santa Rosa at the free Parks Make Life Better Bash, 4 to 7 p.m. ?Friday at Howarth Memorial Park, ?630 Summerfield Road. Interactive kids’ activities, tour the baby animal barn, explore interactive displays and exhibits from the Sonoma County Traveling Fair. Butterfly walk, July 29

FAMILY PADDLE, JULY 29

Santa Rosa: Learn basic paddling techniques in the calm water of Spring Lake Regional Park 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.Saturday. Enter the park at 393 Violetti Road.
