CELEBRATE PARKS, JULY 28

Santa Rosa: Celebrate parks and open spaces in Santa Rosa at the free Parks Make Life Better Bash, 4 to 7 p.m. ?Friday at Howarth Memorial Park, ?630 Summerfield Road. Interactive kids’ activities, tour the baby animal barn, explore interactive displays and exhibits from the Sonoma County Traveling Fair. Santa Rosa: Learn basic paddling techniques in the calm water of Spring Lake Regional Park 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.Saturday. Enter the park at 393 Violetti Road.
