Restaurants make Thanksgiving easier with meals, desserts to go

There’s no need to stress over making every single dish for the Thanksgiving table, with plenty of local talent ready to be your sous chef. Here are some restaurants to turn to for help:

Jimtown Store Catering will take orders for starters, soups, sides and desserts by Sunday for pickup from noon to 3 p.m. on Nov. 22. 707-433-1212 or catering@jimtown.com.

Healdsburg Shed is taking orders for turkeys, brining kits, stock, sides and desserts until 5 p.m. Sunday. Payment is due within 24 hours of the order submission, and dishes will be available for pickup beginning Nov. 21. For a complete menu, go to healdsburgshed.com/eat/larder.

Ramekins is baking Thanksgiving pies and other desserts for pickup, including a Salted Caramel and Gravenstein Apple Pie, A spiced Pumpkin and Chocolate Bread Pudding, a Gingerbread and Pear Roulade and a dozen cookies. To order, go to ramekins.com. 450 West Spain St.

Beans, beer, bangers event ?in support of Tierra Vegetables

Slow Food Russian River is throwing a benefit dinner for Tierra Vegetables from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, at Tierra’s farm in northeast Santa Rosa, which did not suffer much direct damage from the Tubbs Fire but lost more than half of its customer base from the Wikiup and Mark West Creek area.

The Beans, Beer and Banger dinner features heritage bean stew and cornbread from the farm, Fogbelt Sonoma Pride Ale and an option to add on a sausage from Franco’s Old World Sausages.

Relish your health with ?new Food is Medicine series

Relish Culinary has launched a new, Food is Medicine series with the Nectary of Sebastopol, starting at 6 p.m. Thursdaywith Healthy Holiday Sweets & Treats.

The series continues at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 with Handling Holiday Stress, which focuses on foods, beverages and cooking techniques that help you practice self-care.

Trading Post’s Johnson pairs meal, wines for Chef’s Table Series

Erik Johnson, chef and owner of the Trading Post in Cloverdale, will cook some special wine pairings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday as part of the Chef’s Table Series at Lambert Bridge Winery.

Held in the winery’s private cellar with a wine educator, the food and wine experience offers two seatings at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and takes about two hours.

Kids can re-create Snoopy’s?holiday feast at Schulz Museum

Kids can help prepare and enjoy a re-creation of Snoopy’s Thanksgiving meal of toast, popcorn and jelly beans from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, at the Charles M. Schulz Museum.

There also will be hands-on crafts, an ice cream dessert provided by Cold Stone Creamery, eggnog from Clover Sonoma and other fun activities.

Get into the holiday spirit with sparkling wine and oysters
