Martini madness

Get ready to sip in the new year at 5 p.m. Friday when the 17th annual Martini Madness gets shaking at Saddles Steakhouse in Sonoma.

Mixologists from local restaurants and bars will compete for the most creative and delicious martinis alongside an array of small bites prepared by the steakhouse.

During the month of January, the Sonoma Valley Delicious! program will offer all kinds of epicurean adventures, including prix fixe menus at restaurants, food and wine pairings at wineries, and signature cocktails and dishes.

Offerings include pop-up dinners at The Girl & the Fig’s “Suite D”, a two-for-one Reserve Wine Tasting at Mayo Family Winery and 50 percent off a wine, olive oil and vinegar tasting at B. R. Cohn Winery.

Beer & spirits fest

The Napa Craft Beer & Spirits Festival will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Napa Valley Opera House.

The afternoon tasting event includes 35-plus makers of craft beer and spirits, gourmet bites, cocktail demonstrations and live music.

Crab feed season

During the winter months, there’s nothing like a community crab feed to pique your appetite and get you out of the house. Here are a few coming up this month:

The Tides Wharf & Restaurant will offer a crab feed, complete with clam chowder, pasta, green salad and French bread, from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. Cost is $59, not including tax or tip. 835 Highway 1, Bodega Bay. 707-875-3652.

The Petaluma 7-11 Lion’s Club will hold a crab feed at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Petaluma Veterans Hall, 1094 Petaluma Boulevard South. Tickets are $50. A no-host bar opens at 5 p.m. brownpapertickets.com.

The Pacific Empire Chorus will hold a crab feed with a live, a cappella show at 5 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Petaluma VEterans Hall, 1094 Petaluma Boulevard South. The Rancho Adobe Firefighters’ Association will heat up the Dungeness crabs at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Penngrove Community Club House, 397 Oak St. Tickets are $60, available at the Penngrove Fire Station.
