Don and Adeline Bussell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 17, 2014. They were honored at a dinner hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Fred Aguilera, at their favorite French restaurant, La Gare. All of the family and friends present were also attendees at their 50th anniversary.

The former Adeline Hanaford met Don through her aunt in Touchet, WA. For their first date, they went to the car races, and three years later they married in Martinez, CA on December 17, 1954. They lived in Colfax, WA for approximately18 months and then moved to Santa Rosa with their newborn daughter Sharon and have lived here ever since.

Don had several professions, including working on the railroad, short order cook until he became a cement finisher here in Santa Rosa. He retired in 1988. Adeline is a homemaker and mother. They were delighted when Sharon married Fred, as they have a step-grandson named David. In addition to their daughter, they are called Mom & Dad by many of the friends they have met through their lives.

Both Don and Adeline are avid collectors. She loves to collect all things “Snoopy” and angels. Don is an avid model hobbyist and collects model cars, hats and t-shirts. Don is a member of the Druids and Adeline is a member of the Loretta Lynn Fan Club.

The Bussells say that their successful 60 year marriage is the result of always talking things out, compromising and never going to bed angry.
