One man was shot Sunday night during an armed home invasion in southwest Santa Rosa when several men in masks broke in apparently looking for marijuana, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Eight men stormed the property in the 3700 block of Finley Avenue at about 10:08 p.m., ransacking the house. Evidence at the home indicated they were looking for marijuana, Santa Rosa Sgt. Dave Linscomb said.

He did not say if the suspects, who were still at large Tuesday, got away with any drugs or other property.

During the robbery, a 23-year-old man was shot in the arm. He was treated at a local hospital for wounds that were not considered life-threatening, Linscomb said.

No one else in the home was seriously injured.

Sunday’s robbery was the third time since Aug. 31 that someone in Santa Rosa was shot over marijuana, Linscomb said.

Police asked anyone with information on the robbery or the suspects to contact them at 543-3590.
