SONOMA COUNTY: Farm Trails holiday

This month through New Year's Day, farms and producers of artisanal food, wine, beer and ciders will open their doors to guests during a new event, Holidays Along the Farm Trails in Sonoma County.

There may be a modest fee for a special tour or activity, but entry to all farms and most activities are free of charge. Some farms may provide workshops to make gifts, or learn a new skill. Many will sell farm-made jams, sauces, soaps, crafts and other gift items.

Snacks, lunches and picnic sites are available at many locations. Guests are encouraged to pack a cooler for toting home farm-fresh treasures.

HEALDSBURG: Barn open house

Jimtown Store and Robert Young Estate winery will hold a Holiday Open House from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Jimtown Barn.

The evening includes Jimtown appetizers and refreshments, Robert Young wine tasting, Moroccan spiced date condiments and shopping for Jimtown gifts. Suggested donation is $5 for UndocuFund, helping undocumented families in Sonoma County impacted by the fires.

CLOVERDALE: New tasting room

Kelley & Young wines have moved their tasting room to Cloverdale to be closer to the Kelley & Young Wine Garden Inn.

The tasting room is located across the street from the Trading Post Restaurant at 119 S. Cloverdale Boulevard. The tasting room is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday. kelleyyoungwines.com

WINDSOR: Notre Vue party

Notre Vue Estate Winery & Vineyards will hold a Winter Wonderland holiday celebration from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Windsor winery.

ST. HELENA: Seven Cultures feast

If you're Italian, you already know about the annual holiday tradition known as Feast of Seven Fishes.

This year, the Acacia House at Las Alcobas Napa Valley has gathered an all-star lineup of guests chefs for a Feast of Seven Cultures taking place Dec. 18 through Dec. 24 at the bistro.

Hosted by Acacia House Chef Chris Cosentino and business partner Oliver Wharton, the week-long dinner party features six guest chefs who will each create a one-night-only tasting menu based on the country they represent.

Guests chefs include Roland Passot cooking French food, Traci Des Jardins making Mexican food, Abraham Conlon and Adrienne Lo preparing Portuguese food, Paul Kahan cooking German food, Jamie Bissonette whipping up Spanish food, Staffan Terje cooking Italian food and Chris Cosentino preparing California cuisine.

SEBASTOPOL: Teddies and tea

Muir's Tea Room will serve its annual Teddy Bear Tea at 5 p.m. Dec. 9, an old-fashioned extravaganza for children of all ages paired with the traditional “high tea” service.

You can also celebrate Jane's Austen's Birthday with tea service and your favorite Austen characters on Dec. 16 and 17 or enjoy tea and holiday treats with Santa on Dec. 23.
