Police and relatives are searching for a 16-year-old girl who was last seen in the bedroom of her northwest Santa Rosa home Wednesday night.

The family of Rebecca Weaver, a student at Ridgway High, began posting fliers around Santa Rosa on Friday in an effort to find the teenager, who they fear may have run away from home.

The family is concerned for her health because she takes medication for an undisclosed medical condition and doesn’t have any with her.

According to Sunny Lyric, Weaver’s aunt, there were no outward signs to explain why her niece would run away except for a recent breakup with a boy at school.

Lyric, who said she is speaking for the family in part because Weaver’s mother, her sister, is so upset, said her niece had never run away before. She said she is a quiet but sweet-natured girl who excels in math.

Weaver is described as 5-foot-8, about 145 pounds, with long brown hair and hazel eyes. She has belly button, nose and ear piercings and sometimes wears glasses. Anyone with information about her is asked to contact the Santa Rosa Police Department at 543-3600 or KlaasKIDS at 855-733-5567.
