2014 GranFondo registration begins Monday

Registration for Levi's GranFondo, an annual ride that at its longest option takes cyclists over 9,000 feet of climbing and on some of the most challenging and scenic roads in Sonoma County, opens Monday morning.

The event is expected to draw 7,500 cyclists.

It will be the sixth year for the ride, which last year raised approximately $265,000 for nonprofit organizations including Forget Me Not Farm, Dempsey Center, Pablove Foundation, NorCal High School Mountain Bike League, as well as fire departments and schools along the route.

The cost is $160 for the 103-mile ride, $140 for the 61-mile medio ride, and $80 for the 32-mile piccolo ride.

The ride will be held Oct. 4, with the start and finish line and a festival at the Finley Center in Santa Rosa.

Registration opens 9 a.m. Monday at www.levisgranfondo.com.
