Santa Rosa temperature ties record high

Santa Rosa temperatures Tuesday matched a record high set 26 years ago.

It was a spring-like 73 degrees at the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport as a warm, dry spell continued across the region. The last time it was that hot on Jan. 21 was in 1988.

Weather data were previously collected several miles south of the airport, closer to downtown Santa Rosa.

The normal high for this time of year is 59 degrees, according AccuWeather Global Weather Center. The normal low is 39 degrees.

Wednesday is forecast to be partly sunny with a high of 69 degrees. Temperatures are expected to dip to a nighttime low of 31 degrees.
