Clearlake police were investigating a shooting Wednesday in which a suspected intruder suffered a non-life-threatening wound.
It was reported at 1:08 p.m. in the 4600 block of West 40th Avenue.
A caller reported he shot a man in self-defense after the man forced his way into his home. The intruder then fled on foot.
Within minutes, officers found a suspect in the 14600 block of Uhl Avenue. He had a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Police learned the men knew each other. The wounded man was taken to St. Helena Hospital Clearlake for medical treatment.
He was also given a mental health evaluation. Police did not release his name, citing medical reasons.
