Suspected drunken driver injured in Bennett Valley crash

A suspected drunken driver traveling on Bennett Valley Road early Friday crashed into a power pole support wire and suffered major injuries, the CHP said.

Driver Steven Jeffrey Kinosian, 20, of Rohnert Park was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and released to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital because of his injuries.

A nursing supervisor said he was in stable condition Friday night.

The crash occurred at about 3:20 a.m., about a mile or so east of Yulupa Avenue, said CHP Officer Chris Mullins.

The driver's door of his Audi coupe ripped off of the car when it hit the wire.

Kinosian was found hanging partially outside of the car, still held in by his seat belt, said Mullins.

Kinosian had been coming out of a curve and into a straight stretch when he lost control, veered to the left and hit the wire.
