The Honor Mansion: A Wine Country Resort in Healdsburg has been ranked the nation's No. 1 hotel for romance by the TripAdvisor travel web site in its 12th annual Travelers' Choice awards.
The Honor Mansion also was named the No. 11 best hotel for romance in the world for 2014, and was chosen as a top-five hotel in the United States for both the small hotel and luxury hotel categories.
"We are truly humbled and honored by these recognitions from TripAdvisor," Steve and Cathi Fowler, owners of the Honor Mansion, said in a statement.
"However, most important, we are thankful that our guests voted and acknowledge the passion we have for serving them and sharing a little piece of our 'heaven on earth,'" they said.
Honor Mansion is located on a four-acre property less than a mile from downtown Healdsburg.
Other local hotels that made the list for romantic spots include Bardessono in Yountville at No. 3, Olea Hotel in Glen Ellen at No. 8 and the Best Western's Elm House Inn in Napa at No. 16.
