Napa police seek couple after girl found dead

A 4-year-old Napa girl was found dead in her bed by police Saturday, and officers say they are looking for her mother and a boyfriend.

The Napa Police Department said in a news release that officers were asked to check on the welfare of the girl, whose name they did not release, around 1 p.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Wilkins Avenue. They found the girl dead with signs of foul play, though they did not describe the nature of her injuries.

Police said the girl's mother, Sara Krueger, 23, and her boyfriend, Ryan Scott Warner, 26, were last seen leaving Krueger's house, carrying luggage, around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Police would like to question them about the case, but had been unable to contact them as of late Saturday.

Krueger is described as white, 5 feet, 4 inches tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Warner is described as white, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 160 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Napa police at 257-9223 or email Det. Andy Hess at ahess@cityofnapa.org.
