Man arrested in Exchange Bank robbery

Sonoma County sheriff's deputies Thursday arrested a suspect in connection with a Jan. 29 robbery at the Exchange Bank branch on Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa.

Richard Lormer, 44, was arrested at a family member's house in Sonoma and transferred to the Santa Rosa Police Department, police said.

After receiving tips, police found an undisclosed amount of cash believed to have been taken in the robbery in a dumpster behind a business on Santa Rosa Avenue.

Police said they discovered some of the clothing they believe Lormer was wearing during the robbery discarded at Spring Lake.

Police said Lormer walked into the Exchange Bank on Jan. 29 and handed the teller a note demanding an undisclosed amount of cash. He did not use a weapon during the robbery, police said.

Lormer was booked into county jail.
