The six candidates vying to fill the Area 2 seat on the Santa Rosa Junior College Board of Trustees includes a former Petaluma City Councilwoman and the woman who held the position prior to current trustee Onita Pelligrini, who will step down mid-March.
Kathleen Doyle, a certified public accountant, has applied for the post she resigned in 2005. Also in the running are former Petaluma City Councilwoman Tiffany Ren?; Lex McCorvey, former executive director of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau; self-employed small business consultant Kathryn Peyton; retired mechanic Richard Hull; and retired educator Margaret Hawes Fishman.
The board will interview all six applicants at a special board meeting on Feb. 20th at 8 a.m. in the Doyle Library fourth flour reading room. Interviews, open to the public, will be conducted at half-hour intervals.
If the board does not make the appointment Feb. 20, it could call a special meeting or make the decision at the March 11 regular meeting, according to school officials.
The new trustee is expected to serve out the remainder of Pelligrini's term which runs through November.
Pelligrini, who will serve until the March 11 meeting, told officials her job as CEO of the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce and her father's declining health are demanding more of her time.
