CabFestNV features music, wine

If you have ever wondered if cab is king, the inaugural event of CabFestNV confirms it. The event, Feb. 28 through March 2, is the valley's first cabernet sauvignon festival featuring wine, food and entertainment.

Two key highlights of the weekend will be staged at Yountville's Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater. The first is the 7 p.m. performance on Feb. 28 of Oscar-winning actor, singer and songwriter Jeff Bridges and his country-rock band, The Abiders, with Bridge's daughter Jessie Bridges as the show opener.

The second is the CabFestNV Grand Tastings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both March 1 and March 2, featuring more than 50 of Napa Valley's cabernet sauvignon producers each day. A sampling of participants include: Silver Oak Cellars, Silverado Vineyards, Trefethen, Spottswoode, Caymus, Beaulieu Vineyard, Frank Family, Louis M. Martini, CADE and Cakebread Cellars. Tickets range from $55 to $500.
