1 arrested in marijuana raids near Willits

In four unrelated raids Thursday, Mendocino County authorities made one arrest, found nearly 350 marijuana plants and seized two firearms and several thousand dollars in cash from homes in the Brooktrails subdivision of Willits.

Deputies of the County of Mendocino Marijuana Eradication Team, assisted by Mendocino Sheriff's deputies, agents from the Mendocino Major Crimes Task Force and the Mendocino County Probation Department conducted the investigations.

Jeremy Hershman, 32, of Willits was arrested at a residence on Primrose Drive and booked into the Mendocino County Jail. Investigators said they discovered processed marijuana, items used to manufacture hash oil, a gun and $5,483 in cash. Hershman was released after posting $50,000 bail.

Investigators also served a search warrant on an address on Lupine Drive where they reported finding 134 indoor marijuana plants, $1,300 in cash and processed marijuana.

Warrants also were served on an address on Tucker Lane, where 26 marijuana plants and a gun were discovered, officials said. Authorities said in a statement that three suspects were identified. At a residence on Blue Jay Place, officers found 187 marijuana plants and evidence they said of the sale of marijuana. One suspect was home during the raid and two other suspects were identified, officials said.

No arrests were made in the Lupine Drive, Tucker Lane or Blue Jay Place addresses, and the investigations are continuing, officials said.
