Sebastopol suspect pulled from home's rafters

Sonoma County sheriff's deputies arrested a 30-year-old Sebastopol man on outstanding warrants Tuesday.

Detectives in the Sheriff's Office's property crimes units arrested Patrick James Barsky, following a tip that led them to a house on the 10200 block of Burgundy Way in Sebastopol.

Barsky, 30, was sought on charges relating to possession and transportation of a controlled substance for sale, DUI, evading arrest, driving on a suspended license and possession of a concealed weapon. He was previously arrested in December on similar charges following a pursuit by detectives.

On Tuesday, Barsky refused calls by deputies to come out of hiding, and a K-9 unit was called in to find him, said Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Raasch.

"He climbed up into the rafters" of the unfinished home, Raasch said. "(Sheriff's Deputies) had to forcibly remove him."

Barsky was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on his outstanding warrants, plus a new charge of resisting or delaying officers. Bail was set at $97,500.
