Third suspect arrested in Talmage child abuse case

A third suspect has been arrested and charged in a case where a Talmage couple is accused of sexual abusing at least two family members for more than 15 years.

Mendocino County sheriff's deputies arrested Walter Jesse Creed, 47, of Ukiah on Thursday after a monthlong investigation prompted by reports from one of the children who said family members allowed other adults to sexually abuse her.

Creed was booked and charged with oral copulation of a child under 14, lewd and lascivious acts with a child and multiple counts of possession of child pornography. His bail was set at $130,000.

In January, Donald Dunakin and Ina Medina of Talmage were arrested in connection with the abuse of at least two family members.

One of the alleged victims said Creed, who police said met the her relatives online, sexually abused her 11 years ago. Last month, authorities executed a search warrant at Creed's resident off of Highway 253, locating what was described as a "large amount" of child pornography. Several computers were also seized, which police sent to the Department of Justice for forensic analysis.

Police said the evidence led them to seek the arrest warrant.
