MMA fighters to duke it out on Saturday in Petaluma

Mixed martial artists will face-off in the ring while also trying to raise money for a good cause in Petaluma this weekend.

Knockout and Double Vision Promotions are hosting "Petaluma Fight Night" this Saturday at the Petaluma Veterans Memorial Building.

The event features a raffle that will send all proceeds to 8-year-old Stephanie Cody, of Rohnert Park, to help aid in her battle with cancer.

Saturday's fight night will also feature appearances by big names in the MMA world, including Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Antonio McKee and UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock and his brother Frank, according to promoter Dan Chavez.

Jackson will be signing autographs when the doors open at 5 p.m., and the first of ten fights is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

The final two fights of the night will be title fights in the 135- and 145-pound weight classes.

The fights will be taped and televised later that night on SpikeTV. General admission tickets start at $30, ringside tickets are $40 and seats in the gold circle are $50. For tickets, call 707-889-9455.

Fans at the event will find sponsors including BCJ Unlimited, Max Muscle and others and will have Lagunitas served by local bar, the Jaded Toad, with food and ring girls to complete the show.

Aside from the fights and fundraiser, McKee and Jackson are expected to announce the launch of Conquest Fighting Championships sometime during the event.
