Santa Rosa police on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old boy they suspect is responsible for at least 370 acts of graffiti in the city over the past five months.
The teen, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, is suspected of causing at least $15,000 in damage by tagging the word "FLUE" on city signs, benches and various private property, said Sgt. Phil Brazis of the property crimes division.
He was taken into custody after police served a search warrant at his home in the Coddingtown area, Brazis said.
It is the second arrest of a suspected prolific tagger in the past week. Reynaldo Zamora-Ruiz Jr., 22, was arrested last week on suspicion of 75 acts of vandalism over the past eight months.
Barzis said his unit is making an extra effort to investigate and arrest those responsible for such graffiti.
"We will aggressively go after anyone who vandalizes the city of Santa Rosa or private property in the city," Brazis said.
