Settlement possible Wednesday in Efren Carrillo peeking case

A possible settlement could come Wednesday afternoon in the ongoing criminal case of Sonoma County Supervisor Efren Carrillo.

Carrillo, 32, is charged with misdemeanor peeking stemming from his pre-dawn arrest last summer outside a Santa Rosa woman's house.

Police who responded to the woman's 911 calls found Carrillo nearby, clad only in his socks and underwear. Officers at the time said he was attempting a sexual assault.

Carrillo faces up to six months in jail if convicted at a trial scheduled for April 18.

But his lawyer and a special prosecutor have been negotiating a plea bargain. They will appear at 4 p.m. before Judge Arnold Rosenfield.

Carrillo's lawyer would not say if the case will be resolved. The prosecutor did not return calls Tuesday.
