Before her last song, Bruce thanked her grandmother, LaVelle Seely, a musician who was at the show, for piquing her interest in country music and inspiring her music career.

Bruce closed her set with "Even if it Breaks Your Heart."

Ginny Humphrey, a freshman at Elsie Allen, attended the show with her mother, Emily. She likened Bruce's voice to that of country sensation Taylor Swift, and said she was excited to see a native Santa Rosan on national TV.

"I thought it was cool to see something big happen for Santa Rosa," Humphrey said, "because nothing ever happens here."

She approached Bruce before the show, gave her a letter she's written to her, hugged her, and had her picture taken with her.

Katy Dillwood said she is friends with Bruce's aunt and has been following her career for years.

"She's amazing," Dillwood said. "She's a very talented girl, that's for sure."
