Sonoma County sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help finding a Santa Rosa man who went missing one week ago.
Reynaldo Pacheco left his Santa Rosa home at around 10 a.m. on March 24, said Sheriff's Sgt. Shannon McAlvain in a news release.
He was driving a black 2006 Range Rover, apparently headed to Napa for unknown reasons. He was supposed to return in time to pick up his child from school by 3 p.m., McAlvain said.
At around 2:40 p.m., Pacheco called and asked a friend to pick up his child from school because he was unable to return in time, McAlvain said.
His family did not hear from him again and reported him missing shortly after he failed to return home, McAlvain said.
Video surveillance from a 7-Eleven store at 2906 1st Street in Napa shows Pacheco's vehicle there at 2:30 p.m., shortly before he called his friend. Pacheco's debit card was used at the store minutes earlier, McAlvain said.
McAlvain said it does not appear that foul play was a factor.
"There is no indication at this point that this is anything other than a missing person," he said.
The Sheriff's Violent Crimes Investigations Unit handles missing persons cases and asks anyone with information about Pacheco to call 565-2650.
Pacheco, 44, is believed to be self-employed, McAlcvain said. He has family in Fresno and Kingsburg.
The news release described him as a Hispanic man who stands about 5 ft. 4 and weighs roughly 145 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a distinctive, linear scar that runs about 4 to 5 inches down the inside of his left calf and ankle.
The California license plate number for his Range Rover is 6FHF048.
