Roadblocks at school
EDITOR: My name is mom — a good generic name for what I'm about to write. I drive and drop off three children at school each morning.
I drop off the kids. I don't pull into the drop off zone and check each child's backpack. I don't check if everyone has their homework or lunch money, and I don't block the drop off zone for other drivers.
I am fortunate to have a job, one which I need to be at by 8:30 a.m. I leave in plenty of time, but when other drivers block the drop-off zone chit-chatting or going in to see a teacher, I'm late. There are parking spots for these exact reasons; please use them.
So parents, guardians, other drivers, if your child's school has a drop-off area, use it. If you need to chat with other drivers, pull over, park and, frankly, get out of my way.
