In the first call, made at 3:40 a.m., she tells a female dispatcher that a man "tried to get into my window."
When asked, she tells the dispatcher she doesn't recognize the man.
"He was shirtless and huge," she says, consistent with her court testimony last week.
The dispatcher asks, "Which window did he try to get into?"
"Through my bedroom window," she answers.
Toward the end of the first call, the woman's voice sounds unsteady. Asked by the dispatcher if she's alone in the house, she says two friends are staying with her.
"No. I-I'm with my friends here, and, and, and I'm shaking and ...," she says, her voice trailing off.
The woman made the second call at 3:50 a.m., reporting to the dispatcher, "He came back to my door and he (expletive) knocked on it."
About a minute later, the dispatcher tells the woman that police have the man "out on the street." The dispatcher directs her to go outside to speak with an officer.
"Wait, what?" she says, before eventually agreeing to open the door.
Interim Santa Rosa Police Chief Hank Schreeder said his department worked with the city attorney's office in deciding to release the calls after receiving requests from a number of media outlets.
Santa Rosa police officials repeatedly rejected previous requests for the recordings over the past nine months, saying first that they did not want to interfere with an ongoing investigation, and later, with the court process. They also deferred the decision to prosecutors, who would not authorize release of the recordings.
Schreeder on Tuesday said the department would not release police reports related to the incident. A news release from the department cited California government code that exempts such reports from disclosure under the state's public records law.
