MAN KILLED IN ADOBE ROAD CRASH

A 60-year-old Penngrove man was killed in a one-car accident Thursday afternoon on Adobe Road in Penngrove, according to the CHP.

The man, who was not identified pending notification of his family, was driving a 1999 Nissan Altima on Adobe Road at Old Redwood Highway when he swerved toward the center line, then apparently overcorrected and crashed into a tree, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt, Van Eckhardt said. He was freed from the car and taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital.

The accident, which was reported at 4:03 p.m., forced the closure of Old Redwood Highway south of Adobe Road for about an hour and a half during the evening commute.
