Petaluma residents will have two opportunities next week to let city leaders know what their priorities are in the way the city does business.
On Monday, the City Council will host a workshop to discuss the budget.
Finance Director Bill Mushallo will detail the 2014-15 proposed spending plan, including the operating and capital projects budgets. He also will explain the revised long-term general fund forecast.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Council members will ask questions and discuss priorities, but the council is not scheduled to take any action. The final budget likely will appear before the council May 19.
On Tuesday, the city will hold a town hall meeting to discuss Petaluma's programs, services and spending.
Organizers said they will start the discussion with the question, "Is this the new normal for Petaluma?"
The meeting runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Club Room of the Petaluma Community Center, 320 N. McDowell Blvd.
