Teen Santa Rosa graffiti suspect arrested

A 17-year-old boy who Santa Rosa police believe is responsible for more than 70 acts of vandalism around town has been arrested.

Over the past year, the tagger, who called himself "GON," vandalized numerous spots in Santa Rosa, Property Crimes Sgt. Phil Brazis said.

Detectives investigating the tagging spree got a search warrant for a home south of Santa Rosa. Brazis did not say where, exactly, the home was or what prompted the search there.

When serving the search warrant, they found the 17-year-old boy and identified him as the suspected tagger calling himself "Gon." Police did not disclose his name because of his age.

Police booked him into the Sonoma County Juvenile Justice Center on three counts of felony vandalism, where the damage is $400 or more, and 70 counts of misdemeanor vandalism.

Police ask that anyone with information regarding the case call the property crimes investigation team at 543-3575.
