Majority's voice

EDITOR: Obviously after the most recent shooting, we can anticipate the National Rifle Association's Wayne LaPierre to make clear that the only solution next is to arm our firefighters. Which profession will be next to join the police as an armed auxiliary?

As we await the debate over what limits are reasonable for citizens and arms, we can expect more simple solutions from all sides, which rarely consider the views of opponents in their drive to impose their will. The majority must find its voice, within the Constitution, with minority concerns considered and included. Compromise will come at cost; no agreement will cost far more.
