Letter of the Day: Debt? What debt?

Debt? What debt?

EDITOR: What is all this nonsense about the national debt? It is clearly a conspiracy by those who want our country to take action. (No right thinking Congress should ever do anything.)

There is no irrefutable scientific proof that there really is a debt. And if there is a debt, it is obvious that it was not caused by spending; it's simply a natural phenomenon.

Look at Europe (eeww!). Those countries are taking measures to "cure" their so-called debt problem. Who wants to be like them? Not me. If the U.N. tries to send its economists to force austerity upon this once great country, they will have to pry my credit cards from my cold, dead hand.

Next week I will write to you about how taxes don't kill jobs, jobs kill jobs.
