Letter of the Day: Second-term hoopla

Second-term hoopla

EDITOR: Here's a great example of government waste that can be easily eliminated or greatly reduced, and it's non-partisan to boot: the inauguration of a second-term president. Do we really need all the parades, hoopla and public celebration again? What's the matter with a nice formal swearing-in in the Oval Office rather than the huge expenditure over the public display?

It doesn't matter who was re-elected - keep it simple and save some taxpayer dollars.
