A Santa Rosa gang member who smashed a rival's face with a paving stone, leaving him blind in one eye, was sentenced Tuesday to more than 14 years in prison.
Ryan Orlando Gomez, 20, was the last of several co-defendants to be sentenced for a May 2011 attack at a Shell gas station on Guerneville Road.
Prosecutors said Gomez and as many as seven others clashed with sure? gang members in a fight that began in a nearby Safeway grocery store parking lot.
It spilled across the street to the gas station.
One man was slashed with a knife and another was hit with a tire iron.
Gomez smashed another man with the heavy stone as he lay on the ground, prosecutor Jason Riehl said.
He was sentenced to 14 years, four months in prison by Judge Ken Gnoss on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and gang enhancements.
