After a crash near Covelo, the CHP is emphasizing that children operating all-terrain vehicles need to be closely supervised.
Although injuries were minor in the Sunday accident, the CHP was reminding parents and guardians of the need for safety.
A 14-year-old boy was operating a 2001 Honda ATV on private property when he lost control and the vehicle overturned. The driver and his 11-year-old passenger were thrown out and the ATV landed on them.
The passenger was transported by helicopter to UC Davis Medical Center after suffering a minor injury.
Both boys had helmets on at the time of the crash.
