A Cloverdale man who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Sunday had his 5-year-old daughter in the car with him at the time, the CHP said.
Two CHP officers stopped at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday to check on the occupants of an Acura sedan that was stopped on the side of the road on Highway 12 at Dutton Avenue.
Martin Reyes Rosales, 29, refused a field sobriety test after he showed obvious signs of intoxication. When the officers went to arrest him, Rosales resisted, leading to a brief scuffle, Officer Nenad Gorenec said.
Rosales's young daughter was unrestrained and seated in the front passenger seat of the car.
The girl's grandmother drove from Cloverdale to pick her up, Gorenec said.
Child Protective Services also was contacted.
Rosales, who allegedly had $1,000 in counterfeit money in his possession, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, child endangerment and forgery.
He posted bail later Sunday morning and was released, according to a Sonoma County Jail official.
