Malfunctioning railroad crossing arms on Piner Road cause traffic mess

Malfunctioning railroad crossing arms on Piner Road created traffic hassles in northwest Santa Rosa Monday morning, reported Santa Rosa police.

The arms were working again by about 9:40 a.m., reported police.

The arms were stuck in the lowered position for more than an hour, causing traffic to stack up on the major thoroughfare.

Police then issued an alert for drivers to avoid the route.

The tracks cross Piner Road just east of Marlow Road.

Police reported the problem at 8:40 a.m.
